Engaging Family Caregivers as Partners in Safety in Continuing Care
- Dec 4, 2025, 1-2pm, Virtual
In the continuing care industry, we often see only a small part of a resident’s story – the time since admission. Families hold the rest of the “rope”: the life-course knowledge that prevents triggers, reduces responsive behaviours, and keeps both residents and staff safe. In this practical one-hour session, learn how to turn that knowledge into real-world safety partnerships. Join our speakers from Caregiver-Centered Care, and discover a simple “Caregiver Safety Snapshot” method, easy conversation skills to “get curious, not furious,” and ideas from the Embedding Caregiver-Centered Care Toolkit used in more than 45 Alberta care settings.

2025 Member and Associate Member OHS Drop-In hours
The purpose of the OHS drop-in hour is for CCSA Members and Associate Members (or those who are considering an Associate Membership) to bring OHS questions, concerns, or ideas to a knowledgeable and supportive environment. These informal sessions will provide an opportunity for members to engage with CCSA Consultants, and peers, to share experiences and gain valuable insights into Occupational Health and Safety practices. Whether you’re dealing with specific workplace challenges or looking to improve safety protocols, the drop-in hours are a valuable resource for enhancing safety culture and ensuring compliance with regulations. Join us to connect with peers, learn best practices, and make your workplace safer for everyone.
